BACRDR Executive Director Paula Scalingi routinely speaks at local, national, and international conferences, workshops, and other events.  So far in 2015 she has presented at The Infrastructure Security Partnership 2015 Critical Infrastructure Protection Symposium in Baltimore, MD; North Bay Leadership Council in Novato, CA; American Society on Aging Annual Conference in Chicago, Il; Webinar on Geriatric Preparedness and Resilience hosted by the Stanford Geriatric Education Center; Summit on Climate Change Health and Aging at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA; Southeast Wisconsin Homeland Security Partnership Resiliency Workshop and Tabletop Exercise in Oconomowoc, WI; DRI International Collegiate Conference on Risk and Continuity in San Rafael, CA; U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Infrastructure Protection Climate Change Webinar Series; and the National Academy of Medicine-U.S. DHS Workforce and Health Threats Resilience Standing Committee, in Washington, DC.

Recent Publications and Interviews

Dr. Scalingi was featured in an interview in the Journal of Risk and Crisis Communication on the topic of Regional Integrated Risk Management, July 9, 2015.

Dr. Scalingi co-authored “Contributing To Geriatric Health and Well-Being through Improved Community Resilience Capacities,” in Disaster Preparedness for Seniors, Springer, 2014.

Dr. Scalingi co-authored an article in DomPrep Journal on "Screening Risk Analysis Tools for Resilience of Critical Infrastructure and Regions," Aug. 19, 2015. The article was drawn from a project to develop a Regional Risk Management Process sponsored by the U.S. DHS Office of Infrastructure Protection. Dr. Scalingi was a member of National Institute of Building Sciences team, which undertook the project.
